TDclothing are a modern textile recycler end exporter who specialise in the collection of quality second hand clothing, shoes, bags, belts and household bedding.

We are the North East’s leading textile recycling company and like most modern day textile recyclers we are a family owned company. We offer a range of services from home collections to fundraising opportunities for schools and groups allowing you to turn your unwanted clothing into cash!

We are extremely proud to work in support of Children’s charity Cash for Kids in two separate regions by donating a minimum cash amount from every collection we make!

All goods collected by TDclothing are sold to emerging nations, they are exported to wholesalers in Eastern Europe where the goods are then sorted and sold to the general public via retailers.

When something is thrown away we are failing to see it as a resource. It is well understood that what is waste to one person may not be viewed as waste by another.

The recovery and recycling of textiles provide environmental benefits. These processes reduce the need for landfill space. Many of the materials we throw in landfill tips have a value and can be used again. Landfill is the dumping of our waste into an open hole in the ground, where it is buried into thousands of sites in operation throughout the UK.

Textiles present particular problems in landfill as synthetic (man-line made fibres) products will not decompose, while woollen garments do decompose and produce methane, which contributes to global warming.

The recycling of textiles is not only good for the environment, but also that it has an important social and economic role to play. Throughout the UK it is estimated that private textile reclamation businesses employ around 5-10,000 people, with a further 9,500 employed in UK charity shops. Furthermore by employing over 250,000 people in Europe, which helps fight social exclusion and create jobs.

These benefits are greatly extended as textile recycling in the UK provides an affordable source of clothing to people in the developing world and emerging nations across Eastern Europe. In many of these countries it also provides the basis of economic growth.
